Bad news: We arrived 4 hours later than we planned.
Good news: Ryan and Pat are really good at changing trailer tires.
Bad news: They had to change two of them.
Good news: God is watching over us.
Bad news: No bad news after that one!
After spending a hour on the side of the road waiting for help to change the first flat tire on the trailer, we spent some time in the parking lot at the Mitchell, S.D., Wal-Mart having lunch while waiting for a new tire to be put on and removing the destroyed fender from the blowout. Fortunately, the second tire decided to leave it's tread on Interstate 90 just 10 miles from Mitchell.

God's presence as we approach Rapid City was hard to ignore. |
End result: Our trailer now has two brand new tires, which should carry us the rest of the way. Right out of the gate our group had to get into the spirit of trusting in God and knowing He will keep us safe.
Pray for us as we continue our adventure as we drive to Bozeman UMC.
Through-out the challenge of tires and waiting, the youth were really patient. There was little complaining even though it became quite warm in the van. There is a gift in being able to wait and observe. It draws us into the present moment and can open our eyes to all kinds of wonderful gifts just there in front of our eyes. So, I think the tires were an important aspect of yesterday. We all patiently waited and it all worked out just fine.
